MC Ranking

Ranking is an MC who needs no introduction, who appeared on the huge Garage Anthem ‘Sometimes it snows in April’ with co-vocals from Amar. No newcomer to the scene, Ranking has been MC’ing professionally for 16 years, since his beginnings in the drum and base era. Securing himself a slot on Rude FM in 1994, one of the premier pirate radio stations for the time, it provided him with a perfect platform and 2 years experience but not the recognition he craved.

Teaming up with Madness, he established himself as one of the leading MC’s on Freek FM, their shows becoming a focal point of the weekly line up. From then on the club work flooded in leaving him very little time for pirate radio.

Also previously being the official Dream Teem MC, the turn of the millennium saw Ranking taking centre stage at Radio 1’s Leeds Love Parade in front of a crowd of half a million people, then presented the live broadcast on Radio 1 from Ayia Napa. The Dream Teem and Ranking also hosted the Radio 1 stage at various Notting Hill Carnivals, and embarked on a Radio 1 national club tour alongside the ‘Dream Teem Present’ show.

Now one of the busiest MC’s on the circuit, his diary is rammed full of national and overseas bookings. Having spent the majority of his summers between Ayia Napa and Ibiza, he is also a regular in Switzerland. A long standing resident for Pure Silk Exposure and Sweet Harmony promotions and all the Dreem Teem parties, as well as guesting at all the main garage nights.

Like a number of the premier MC’s, Ranking has been in the studio, lending his voice to several productions. Already completed are a remix of Ramsey and Fen’s ‘Kiss Me’ featuring Lynsey Moore, Oris J’s ‘Biggin’ Up the Massive’ and Dreemhouse Productions tracks including Emilana Tomini’s ‘Unemployed in Summertime’ Haxdragon ‘Two Summers’ and most famously ‘Sometimes it Snows in April’ with vocalist Amar.
