DJ MA1 is regarded as one of the pioneers of the London House and Funky scene. MA1 quickly became popular in the underground house scene in London in 2005 and since then has gone on to perform at some of the biggest clubs in the UK and worldwide (Matter, Ministry of Sound and the Den (formally the End).

In 2006 DJ MA1 founded his own record label and began to release his own productions as well as signing other producers.

MA1 was responsible to releasing some of the tracks which helped the develop the early afro beat sound of UK Funky. Two tracks produced by MA1: Im Right Here and Give it up, were heavily rotated on Rinse FM and played regularly on BBC Radio 1. MA1 has also produced remixes for artists such as Roska, Bob Sinclar and Jordan Sparks.

MA1's music has featured on a number of official compilations such as: The Sound of UK Funky (Ministry) and This is UK Funky (Warner Music). Also his track Im Right Here was used in the movie: Noel Clarkes - Adulthood.

DJ MA1 has also had the opportunity to spread his sound internationally with live DJ Sets in Poland, Prague and Germany.

More recently MA1 has been working in the recording studio and has produced a track Tech House track called High Definition which has been a club hit internationally and supported by DJs such as Daz i Kue (Bugz In the Attic), L-Vis 1990 and Joy Orbison.

In the future MA1 plans to focus on his live DJ sets and his studio production.
